The Big Bang Necklace was a labor of love; from initial concept, to stone sourcing, hand carving, months of engineering and prototyping, until the final stone was set and the metal polished to a mirror-reflective gleam. This effort is typical of each piece in the Big Bang Collection, with such difficulty and time making each piece one of a kind.

Concept and Design

It all starts with an idea. From that initial concept comes iteration and redesign until the final design is just right. This process can take weeks or even months to reach the the final version.

Hand Carved Lapidary

Hand carved black and white cameo agate is achieved by a master lapidary in Idar-Obertein, Germany. This region of Germany is renowned for its tradition of lapidary craftsmanship, passed down from generation to generation.

Meticulously Engineered

Fully articulated and segmented, the necklace lays comfortably on any body. Months of engineering went into the construction of the necklace's form to ensure it will fit the wearer like a glove.

Prototyping

Prototyping is what happens when design meets reality. The Big Bang Necklace, a challenging piece to engineer, is meant to fit seamlessly on the body despite being made from rigid materials. After months of working on the design, by articulating each bezel and segment, fluidity out of metal was achieved, creating a necklace that fits beautifully.
